Brian TurnerBrian has a degree in Chemistry from Bristol University, and trained to be a patent agent before qualifying as a solicitor in 1982. He joined Baker & McKenzie’s IP and IT Department in 1991, leaving to become a founding partner of Gordons in 1994. Brian specialises in intellectual property rights (IPR), mostly undertaking IPR litigation but also some commercial IPR transactions and general commercial litigation, particularly if it has a technical content. Brian has a particular penchant for defending small and medium-sized businesses against allegations of infringement by larger competitors. Brian's advice also encompasses the practical and commercial aspects of IPR, whether in a contentious environment or otherwise, and includes, for example, enforcing the UK trade-mark portfolio of a multinational companies. Not every IPR dispute can be solved by licensing or redesign and Brian's direct, forthright and practical advice is appreciated by his clients. Brian is based in our London office.
