Charles AtkinsCharles worked in the Claims & Regulatory department of Radcliffes LeBrasseur for 14 years and was a partner there for nine years. In 2005 he became a partner at Bevan Brittan, heading up their London Healthcare team. In 2007 Charles joined Gordons, where he has established our Healthcare Department. He now leads a team of lawyers in our Guildford office dealing with claims, regulatory and criminal matters. His expertise is in defending clinicians on behalf of a leading Medical Defence Organisation in claims of clinical negligence, in disciplinary proceedings and in disputes between clinicians and their contract holders. He also undertakes regulatory work on behalf of practitioners before the GMC and GDC. In addition, he provides advice and representation at Inquests along with criminal prosecutions and other healthcare advisory services. He is a recognised leader in the field of defendant healthcare work and is described in Chambers 2010 as being a 'sound practitioner with a deep knowledge of this area of law'.
