Cheryl is a graduate of Exeter University and qualified as a solicitor in 1985. She has specialised in clinical negligence litigation for NHS Trusts, Strategic Health Authorities and individual doctors since the early 1990s when she was a partner and Head of Department at Berrymans. From 1999 she was a member of the Clinical Negligence Team at DAC Beachcroft LLP both as a partner and a consultant, leaving in 2013 to work as a freelance legal consultant.
Cheryl has expertise in defending claims involving most medical specialities, including Fatal Accidents. She has particular experience in high value catastrophic injury claims arising from Obstetrics, Neurosciences, Anaesthetics, Paediatrics and Neonatology, including the implementation of many Periodical Payments Orders.
Cheryl was an Editorial Board member of Healthcare Risk report from 1993-2009 and a chapter contributor to Clinical Risk Modification (Butterworth – Heinemann 1999).
